Our Story
Rachel and Jacqlyn met in 2015 while working at Airbnb. Together, we built Airbnb’s first leveling framework. Several years, jobs and babies later, we happily found ourselves back together, working as consultants and building leveling frameworks for some of the best technology companies in the world.
As we worked with clients of all sizes, we noticed a problem: companies were waiting too long to implement leveling frameworks, leading to misaligned expectations and inflated titles. LevelUp was born to help startups build this foundation early. Our mission is simple: help growing companies get clear about expectations, performance, and growth before things get complicated.

Rachel has 25 years of experience in Human Resources. As a consultant, she found herself in a surprising niche, when company after company came looking for leveling frameworks. She fell in love with the impact these tools, when done right, can have on individuals and systems. Rachel believes that clear and transparent expectations are a critical key to engaging teams, unlocking performance and establishing fair and equitable practices.
Jacqlyn Hogan
Jacqlyn has over 10 years of Human Resources experience and a Master’s in Organizational Design. Jacqlyn is the engine behind LevelUp, as she applies her organizational skills and methodical approach to synthesizing and understanding data.
